  1. Today's schedule is pretty intense. I learned a lot today. I wish I can remember all the stuff we learned today.

  3. It was a lot of copying and pasting. It was good to know about Library of Congress and its resource. I hope I will remember everything we did today.

  4. I liked learning about the voice thread. I'll try it again at home to make sure I remember how to do it.

  5. I knew nothing about voicethread so that was a huge learning experience. Also I didn't really know anything about commenting so that was great also. I knew how to copy URLs but I learned how to get the URL for a picture (I think) and then copy and paste as well. I think the Library of Congress is a great site to know about.

I'm worried that I'll get stuck when trying to do the homework... time will tell.

  6. I do not know if I can do this by myself. I will try again several times from home. Maybe I can find someone that I can work with. It is pretty fascinating.

  7. I wasn't expecting to get as far as we did today. I am really impressed that I was able to use an application that I had never heard of before class today. I also was able to help a few people around me.

  8. Well, class goes pretty fast and I get afraid that I will not know how to do something but then I get help and I get there. Sometimes I can do it without help. I would like to be able to get my students to do the voice thread thing; I need to practice it myself again first. Also, I do not have a projector in my class so this would limit it to some extent. I have tried to get the school to buy a projector but it has not happened yet. Also, getting the students all set up on gmail accounts seems like a lot but once I get more practice, I plan to try it.

  9. I loved today's class: I love thinking non-linerally (is that a word?) I think that if I change my mind set from following steps to what is my goal, I will catch on to this new information more quickly.
I am looking through a crack in the curtain of the twenty-first century computing rather than looking at the curtain wondering how to pull it back.
You are an awesome teacher, teaching teachers to learn to open our minds to thinking differently.
I get frustrated and then you calm me and encourage me to think about what I want to accomplish and it happens: I accomplish. Thank you! Linda McL.

  10. I really benefit from understanding the process of presenting and sharing information. Normally, I just click and go with no thought. Learning the process/steps has helped to increase my level of confidence.

  11. First of all, I never knew that programs like Voicethread and digital Library of Congress existed. That part was really exciting. I just wanted to explore those sights to find images or materials for my language classes.

I felt frustrated sometimes because what we were asked to do seemed over my head. However, I know with some practice, I will become more comfortable (lower the filter!).

I was thinking about the comment Kathleen made about pushing the envelope about getting kids to use technology. We do some have technology at Oceana, just not a laptop for everyone.

  12. Wow! What a big, whirlwind roller coaster ride! In the beginning I was most frustrated, but by the end of day I was able to help a classmate upload her picture to voice-thread. I feel mildly confident, yet, I still have much farther to travel on this ultra-technological road. I think I can retrace my steps to making a link on my blog as well as posting it up as a voice-thread. I thought the idea of having the class post a comment to the LOC picture was good modeling. I also glean from you being calm even when unsure of the next step. Although your expertise is deep, just seeing you remain calm is very helpful and good for me to see. Thank you!

  13. I am familiar with Voice Thread, but it was nice to have a review. I do feel proud of myself that I could upload a Voice Thread to my blog- I just hope i can remember how to do it when I am on my own. I am looking forward to tooling around the Library of Congress website. I am hoping to find some useful resources.

  14. I liked learning about Voice Thread--can see many applications for my photography classes, but I wonder if I have to have every student enroll.

  15. I did a lot of activities with good results, but I don't know if I can replicate all this at home! I need to learn more about my mac at home and get an upgrade!

  16. Well, I was pretty overwhelmed today. Many thanks to Octavio and Jane for getting me through some difficult times. Missing the first class was tough. I hope I have the time to use all that I have learned. It is pretty interesting.
